Service Learning
The service-learning projects encompassed a diverse range of community engagement initiatives across multiple regions. In Gemena, students purchased and distributed flip-flops to local youth before visiting a Mayan school in the Yucatán to donate school supplies. Collaborating with renowned Haitian-American artist Charles Phillippe Jean-Pierre, they painted a large mural in the Black community of Colón. Other efforts included donating school supplies, painting a local playground, and revitalizing the interiors of Indigenous Mayan homes and a school. Additionally, students took part in Rwanda’s monthly Umuganda community clean-up activities.
Our Global Footprint: Countries We’ve Explored
WSP has provided ITAV LA students with global learning experiences, taking them to destinations such as Brazil, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mexico’s Yucatán region, South Africa, the Dominican Republic, Panama, Cuba, Ghana, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Rwanda.
