ITAV Secures $2.1 Million in New Market Tax Credits to Expand and Empower Through Education

At It Takes A Village (ITAV), we are beyond excited to announce that we have successfully closed on New Market Tax Credits (NMTC), bringing in $2.1 million to invest in our expansive 8.1-acre campus! This significant funding will allow us to implement crucial upgrades that will enhance our facilities and provide a better learning environment for our students, staff, and community.

What are New Market Tax Credits?

The New Market Tax Credit (NMTC) program, established by the U.S. Congress in 2000, is designed to stimulate economic growth in low-income communities by attracting private investment. By offering tax incentives to investors, the NMTC program supports organizations like ITAV that drive job creation and economic development. With the recent acquisition of these credits, ITAV is poised to make transformative changes that will benefit the entire community.

How We Will Use This Funding

Thanks to the $2.1 million in NMTC funding, we will be able to make several key improvements to our campus, including:

Upgrading Plumbing: Essential plumbing upgrades will ensure our facilities are safe and efficient for our students and staff.

Complete Renovation of Bathrooms and Kitchen: Our bathrooms and kitchen will be completely renovated, providing modern and functional spaces that enhance the overall experience for everyone at ITAV.

Numerous Other Improvements: In addition to these major upgrades, we will make various enhancements to our main building to create a more welcoming and effective learning environment.
